The Leiden Medievalists Blog was founded in October 2017 by Jerem van Duijl, Marlisa den Hartog and Thijs Porck.
Leiden University is home to many specialists studying the history, culture, art, archaeology and languages of the Middle Ages. This blog provides a platform for Leiden University medievalists to share their knowledge about the Middle Ages with a broader audience.
The authors of the articles on this blog are all affiliated with Leiden University and come from various disciplines, including History, Art History, Archaeology, Book History, Anglo-Saxon Studies, Dutch Language and Culture, German Language and Culture, and Middle Eastern Studies.
Apart from regular articles on a variety of medieval subjects, this blog provides an overview of the different courses in the area of Medieval Studies that Leiden University offers (see the ‘Medieval Studies’ tab).
